Double Doodles

The average weight if a Double Doodle is 35- 60lbs

Overview

The Double Doodle is a mix between the Goldendoodle and a Labradoodle. Both breeds are medium to large in size and shed very little. Other characteristics that Double Doodles may inherit from their parents include high energy levels and an intelligent and friendly personality. Their coat may be straight, wavy, or curly.

Temperament

The temperament of the Double Doodle will be a mix of the Golden Retriever, Poodle and Labrador Retriever’s personalities and characters. He will be a highly intelligent, loving, friendly and wonderful family companion. The Double Doodle is easily trained. A well socialized Double Doodle is happy to meet new people and dogs. He is also very good with children but because he is a medium to large breed, supervision with small children is necessary. Small children can accidentally get knocked down by this gentle dog. This is a high energy breed; he will want lots of attention and thrive on interaction and keeping busy.

Activity Needs

He will need long daily walks, play that allows him to use his smarts, and exercise that sometimes involves a job to do. Activities such as playing fetch, agility training, swimming and jogging will keep him happy. This hybrid is not well suited for apartment living as his exuberant personality needs room to bounce around in. The Double Doodle will be happier in a house with a fenced yard in which to explore and practice his work. Double Doodles are most comfortable in moderate temperatures. They do not do well in very cold weather.
